The summer outdoors Film Festival, Filmstreet will turn city streets, parks, squares and corners into movie theatres for the fourth year in a row.
During the summer, screens will be spread all over 15 top locations throughout Belgrade in order to show 40 iconic works of world cinematography.
Now the already traditional, free traveling theatre will begin its journey in unusual locations in the city with the support of Amstel, on June 13th from 20.30, with the projection of the 1974 legendary achievement “The Great Gatsby”.
The next three months, Studentski (Student) Park, Tašmajdanski Park, Kalemegdan, Skadarlija, Cvetni (floral) Square, Čubura, Zemun quay, Palas, Sava promenade and other picturesque neighbourhoods will host legendary films such as the comedy “Some like It Hot,” as well as the most important science-fiction film “2001. A Space Odyssey” and the authentic “Trainspotting”.
In commemoration of the centenary of the First World War, visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy a mini concert as a prelude to the projection of the domestic classic “March on the Drina”. Filmstreet will celebrate 75 years of “The Wizard of Oz”, and will bring the spirit of Italy to the the capital with the projection of Fellini’s “La Dolce Vita”. The festival will also bring remakes of Broadway classics, pearls of European cinema, Oscar-award-winning comedies, high dramas, thrillers, animated movies and more.
